The outbreak—according to survivors—began around Week 13 and swept across North America within days. In the quarantined Zone it left behind, only a few survivors remain.

Hunger and roaming cannibals are terrifying enough—but nothing compared to the infected, the rabid, transformed humans now known simply as the ferals. Among the last still standing are Megan, who is pregnant, and her brother David. They leave their deserted colony in search of safety, but their journey turns deadly when they’re ambushed by a brutal pack—only to be saved at the last moment by two skilled hunters, Cassius and Abigail.
